Croquet & Mocktails Baby Shower

Last weekend I hosted a croquet and mocktails baby shower for my co-worker Ashley and her husband Brad. Baby George is due July 20th and I am so excited to meet him! Ashley likes all things vintage and wanted to do a couples shower without "silly" baby shower games.
Guests were greeted at the door with a “welcome” banner in a grapevine wreath.
Outside I hung paper lantern balloons. I used cupcake wrappers as the balloon basket and baker’s twine for the strings. I think they came out great – vintage and simple.
I made three mocktail recipe cards with how-to instructions. Raspberry Lemonade Spritzer, Italian Soda Bar, and Nojitos (the virgin mojito and oh so delicious!).
Since Ashley didn’t want any baby shower games, I decided that an old fashioned game of croquet was in order.
Ashley and Brad had fun relaxing in the yard and opening all the adorable gifts for Baby George!
Guests were given a paper pinwheel {Ashley made them for the shower} as a thank you favor. They were so cute and festive!
It was a nice, relaxing day for all. Congrats Ashley and Brad on the soon-to-be arrival of Baby George!

Olivia is 4!

My niece, Olivia, turned 4 this past weekend. She told me she loves strawberries and she wanted a strawberry cake. It's strawberry season so I decided to use fresh strawberries dipped in pink sanding sugar. An "Olivia" banner completes the cake! Happy Birthday Olivia!

Sarah's Sweet Shower

This past weekend I helped host a bridal shower for Sarah. Sarah and Trevor are getting married in June and we decided to have a work shower for her before her big day. The colors were lime green, lemon yellow, and white. A festive wreath decked the door for the guests.
Sarah arrived and was thrilled with all the decorations.
Place settings with individual lemon candies.
The beverage area for the iced tea and lemonade.
Best Wishes to Sarah and Trevor!
We asked the guests to write down a fun date idea to put in a date jar for Sarah and Trevor. One of the favorites was the take the coaster up north and enjoy a romantic lunch or dinner before taking the coaster home.
The guests also got together in teams and made "marriage" collages for Sarah. They were asked to pick out pictures and words that were marriage and wedding related. It was fun to see the end results!
Amelia attended her first bridal shower!
Thank you favors for the guests to enjoy - lemonade cookies!

Congrats Sarah and Trevor! We cannot wait to celebrate your marriage!

Milk & Cookies Bridal Shower

This past weekend I hosted a "Milk & Cookies” Bridal Shower for my friend Beka. She is not your typical girl, not your typical bride ~ very laid back, very San Diego, and very kid-like {we should all strive to be like that!}.

I made a letter “B” for the front door out of Cookie Crisp cereal. What a fun welcome!
When the guests arrived they were asked to write down a bit of advice for the bride-to-be. We read the advice to her while she opened her presents ~ some were beautiful, some were sentimental, and some were just downright hilarious.

Here I am with Beka! So happy for her and Channing!

The cookie table all set with so many delicious treats!

I decided to include a sandwich bar since it was close to lunch time. What could be better than PB & J sandwiches. We added some marshmallow fluff to the mix. Delicious!

The milk bar! Moo!

Each straw was adorned with a “milk mustache”. It was funny watching everyone drink out of their straws!

Beka LOVES straws. I mean really loves straws. She use to sell the aluminum Slurpee straws on campus and made a profit! I digress – here she is with her mustache straw.

“Milk & Cookies” parties are not complete without your white chocolate milk mustache photo props!

The bridal shower party – complete with milk mustaches!

The guests not only took home a bag of cookies {there was no way we could possibly eat that many cookies!} but they also were given a reusable straw as a thank you gift.

I had such a fun time hosting this shower for Beka. She is so sweet and genuine and kind and I wish her and Channing a lifetime of happiness and FUN together!

Amelia's Baptism

Amelia was baptized at St. Agnes Church in Point Loma, CA. I decided that lilac and white would be a cute color combo for Amelia's baptism celebration!

Could these little shoes be any more precious?

Brian, me, Owen (look at that sharped dress boy!) and sweet, precious Amelia. It was a fun ceremony and a beautiful day! We had a wonderful celebration!
